Blogging while the world feels upside down
I’ve been around the sun enough times to have seen my fair share of strange things happen in the world. But I’ve got to say, the times we’re living in right now take the cake. Global politics, rising tensions, and conflicts everywhere make it feel like the world’s auditioning for a disaster movie, and we’re all in the front row.
My bingo card of “life things I’d rather not experience” is getting checked off way too quickly. I’m surely among the lucky ones; many have it far worse. But I just have that looming feeling that we’re likely to see more bad sh*t for a while, before things hopefully get better again.
In this blog’s subtitle, I say I’m back to blogging like it’s 2007. The world may feel nothing like 2007 anymore, but I’m still trying to treat this blog as if it is — a safe haven of sorts. Or the Titanic band that kept playing. Take your pick.
I couldn’t find a picture of yours truly blogging in 2007, but I did dig one up from 2012. Still going strong back then, so it’ll do! Oh, how I miss those blogging vibes 😁. Maybe they’ll reappear if we try hard enough? I sure hope so!
Until next time! 👋

P.S. Big thanks to Joan Westenberg for the much needed push to get this show on the road again!
