20 years later

It’s almost scary how fast the time goes by.

A few months ago, I realized that this domain turned 20  this year. I registered it in 2005, to serve as a more user  friendly address for the homesite / blog I already had started some time  earlier, while still studying at the university.

Ever since, this domain has seen countless reincarnations of my  personal home online. It has served as a blog, a one-pager, a CV-style  site, a redirect page to other web projects of mine and so forth. I  might actually do a gallery of nostalgic designs at some point and  publish them here. Would be neat, I think?

This domain has also seen all kinds of CMSs and site stacks. Static  HTML, WordPress, Eleventy, Hugo, Jekyll, Ghost.. I can’t even remember  which ones I’ve run together on this site. This latest rebirth is  powered by Pika Bear.

With this latest edition of the site, I did what often do — started  from scratch. No old posts imported from any earlier sites. No email  lists imported either. Just a fresh take on things from now on.

What that content will be — that remains to be seen, I guess. (But  you can expect it to be related to web work and travels, as usual!) 😄

If you somehow stumbled in here, welcome — it’s great to have you.
